Trump Issues Warning to Hamas: Release Hostages by January 20 or Face Severe Consequences
Outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden recently dispatched senior officials to the region in an effort to negotiate a ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has revealed that he had a “very good conversation” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the ongoing war in Gaza. During the discussion, Trump reiterated his firm warning to Hamas, stating that if the hostages are not released by January 20—the day he officially takes office—all hell will break loose.
“As you know, I warned that if these hostages are not returned home by that date, all hell will break loose,”
Donald Trump stated during a press conference at his Palm Beach resort in Florida.
Hamas-led militants killed 1,200 people and kidnapped over 250, including Israeli-American citizens, during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, according to Israeli reports. More than 100 hostages have been released through negotiations or rescue operations by the Israeli military. However, hundreds remain captive in Gaza, with about half believed to still be alive.

“I Have a Very Good Plan for Ukraine”
On Monday, Trump stated that he plans to talk with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
“This has to stop,” Trump said.
When asked directly whether Ukraine should cede territory to Russia as part of a peace agreement to end the nearly three-year-long war, Trump avoided giving a clear answer. Instead, he noted that much of the disputed territory has been turned into ruins and that it could take a century to rebuild.
“I mean, there are cities where no buildings are left standing—they are complete ruins,” Trump added.
He also mentioned seeing photos of battlefields filled with bodies, which reminded him of some haunting images from the American Civil War between 1861 and 1865. Trump expressed his desire to quickly bring the war to an end but once again withheld details about his plan.
In a recent interview with Time Magazine published last week, Trump stated that he has a “very good plan” but noted that revealing it now would render it “almost worthless.”
