Voting for Kamala Harris would be “gambling with the lives of millions,” said the Republican candidate.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump promised not to send Americans to fight and die in countries they have never heard of, while addressing a crowd in Pennsylvania this past weekend.
Speaking at a campaign rally on Saturday, Trump once again claimed that he is the only one capable of preventing a full-scale global conflict, asserting that his Democratic rival Kamala Harris “will lead us into World War III, guaranteed, because she is too grossly incompetent to do the job.”
“Making her president would be gambling with the lives of millions. Sons and daughters will be called to fight in a war in a country you’ve never heard of,” he said.
In his acceptance speech earlier this year, Trump promised to “end every international crisis created by the current administration,” particularly the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. He never offered specific plans for achieving world peace but consistently warned that by supporting and funding “foreign wars” under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the U.S. increases the likelihood of being plunged into World War III.
Last week, Trump claimed on his platform Truth Social that “if Kamala gets another 4 years, the Middle East will spend the next 4 decades in flames, and your children will go to war.”
“But I will not send you to fight and die in a stupid, endless foreign war,” he told the crowd on Saturday.
“You don’t have to send your children to war, to blow up your child for a country you’ve never heard of, and that doesn’t want anything to do with you anyway.”
The Republican has repeatedly promised to end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours of being elected, even before taking the oath of office, by forcing both sides to negotiate.
Harris, a staunch supporter of Ukraine, criticized Trump’s approach, claiming that he would essentially force Kyiv to surrender. The Kremlin cast doubt on Trump’s peace promises, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggesting that he “doesn’t think there is a magic wand” that can stop the fighting overnight.
Trump also claimed that he could have prevented last year’s Hamas incursion into Israel on October 7, telling podcaster Joe Rogan that when he was president, he ensured Tehran had no money to fund its proxies.
